Ryan and Katharine (2 chefs that have worked at spots around town including Range, Firefly and Quince) have taken over the kitchen and are serving up some seriously delicious food. It's good American soul cooking. Really good. The kind that leaves you feeling like you just ate something special that was made by people who care... they care enough to order just the right kind of wood from Texas for smoking meats, but make sure that the meat itself is local and comes from the kinds of places you want to support. You can't go wrong with their tasty pulled pork sandwich or the spicy cheesy grits. And make sure you have a biscuit. Katharine's a pastry chef at heart with a magic touch and the biscuits are heavenly. In fact, no matter how full you are, order dessert and ask if she's got anything special that's not on the menu - aka, bacon palmiers. don't question it, just get them! It's the perfect spot for a big group that can take over the long table in the middle, or for a romantic date where you can sit by the fire.
