by Shawn W. on I had a nice lunch at Slice today, with two huge pepperoni slices and a coke. Pizza is very thin-crusted, so you can eat more of it than you expect. Pizza is mid-quality, not "gourmet," if that's possible, but basic and tasty. Sauce, cheese, crust and topping were all prepared well. Crust, and I'm a "crust" person, was way better than average. Service was friendly. Ambiance is "warehouse loft," though store is on street level, with huge windows that let you watch the foot traffic. You may sit outside, too. I did notice a very mild sulfuric smell in the building near the entrance when I came in but sat 30 feet away and forgot about it. Ceiling fans and air conditioning are plentiful. It didn't interfere with my appetite and I attribute this to the age and location of the building . It didn't affect my experience or this review, and I only mention it because older reviews mentioned and made me aware of it. I do intend to return and also try a salad. Take a chance. Branch out a bit.
by Reed Nied on First encounter was to stage a performance poolside with local machine artists during a hotel-wide international art festival...each room rented by a gallery from somewhere on the planet...Second encounter was a single rented room for a bachelorette slumber party and included use of the pool...Third encounter was out of town friends staying here for our wedding and spending the next day poolside, and still trying to piece together the rest of the evening after hitting the daqueries....something about eating decent food in the restaurant and dancing on the bar, but the one who supposedly took pictures hasn't called me back yet.
