This place is horrible!!!!! The owners are assholes!! And the bouncers are total Snobs. It is pretentious and so put on. Celebrities go there and a friend of mine was grabbed by a bouncer for talking to a celebrity and yanked out of the way. I have never seen such horrible treatment to people like this disgusting pit. It is like a freak show of stippers, burlesque types doing shows and everyone thinking they are SOO COOL and weird. You can't get in unless you are on a list and upstairs is ONLY for the VIP'S and the bouncers do the power trip of making you feel like no one and only Vip people can be up there. I hated this place. If you want to see gays lesbians, burlesque in the quasi "I am so different and sexy and freaky like a circus" bullshit, go to this totally over hyped stupid club. Oh, that's right, there is a list and even if you are on it you may not get in because that is how much the owners are egotistical pretentious LOSERS and totally superficial jerks.. whoever owns the place is a real TOOL!! to create a space with this much phoney pretentious bullshit and treat customers like dirt. Yuck!!!!! If you are into phonies, and debauchery and people thinking they are so cool because "i am so weird", this is the place for you.

My boyfriend and I spent 4th of July weekend at the W in Midtown. We are ATL residents, but decided to have a bit of a "staycation." With much bigger dinner plans for Friday and Saturday, we decided to eat at the Spice Market inside the hotel on Thursday night. They had a DJ in the bar and it was apparently ladies' night, but we skipped that and headed straight into the restaurant area for dinner at approx 8:00 pm. It was not crowded in the bar or the restaurant. Nice atmosphere...dim, seating with pillows, very sexy. Sticking with the Asian theme, I ordered a Singha beer which was not very cold when it arrived at the table. I had the black pepper shrimp (very good, spicy and a nice flavor with the pineapple). My bf went for the grouper (approx $24 - plenty of veggies, not very much grouper for the price). I was not very hungry and had coconut chicken soup, which was fine. Major thing that determines my was the service. Awful. Our waiter did not seem like he wanted to be there and everything seemed to involve a 10-15 minute wait (refills on drinks, additional silverware, and even the check). We also rarely saw the same person twice (5 different people were involved in bringing items to our table between food, drinks, and even the check - very strange). You are totally paying for atmosphere here and the food is fine. If you are in Atlanta, there are much better places to go for authentic food without the attitude. Oh, and as a footnote, Ovaltine shake dessert? Seriously? Ovaltine? Might be good, but I find that hard to take with a straight face :-)

You're in for a treat when you eat at South City Kitchen. Specializing in southern cuisine my favorite dishes are the buttermilk fried chicken, fried catfish and salmon. Other menu items include southern inspirations, appetizers, desserts like banana pudding and sweet potato pie plus the skillets, grills and saute meals. Located one block from Peachtree and 14th street, South City Kitchen has indoor and outdoor patio seating. When you dine inside, you get the feel that you're in a huge elegant house that was gutted out for open space. The interior design is delightful and somehow this makes my meal feel more southern. Appetizers are priced between $5 and $12 and entrees between $8 and $27. South City Kitchen is open for brunch, lunch and dinner and catering is available.
