Went to The Estate on Friday night and it was really fun! We got there right before 11:30 (group of 4 girls) so we didn't have to pay a cover. Line was small & no problems getting in. Once inside we bought some mixed drinks ($10 each), but the place was pretty empty since it was so early. Soon it starts to fill up, we go to dance, met some visiting europeans who started pouring us free drinks all night, and it was great! I didn't think the drinks were that expensive for a club (I once paid $17 for a vodka soda at a club in New York - eek!). The decor reminds me of Griffin in New York, with all the velvet. Overall, one of the best places in Boston if you're looking to get dressed up and dance. If you don't mind paying, definitely go at midnight or later - I hate being the first ones there!

Like I've said before: Usually Style + Scene is inversely proportional to the quality of food but look no further. Gastopub+Lounge=Gastro-lounge This is the new trend that you can expect to see with the current demise of nightlife elsewhere but I don't mind. Bottle service is dead, "Table service" is the new trend. Alcohol tends to make someone build up an appetite and Avenue is going to cash in. Ever been dancing on a banquet and wanted a Lobster roll? Picture two floors each equipped with a bar, high ceiling, DJ, and Parmesan Truffle Fries. The space is owned by Noah Tepperberg from Marquee and has been Paul Sevigny and the Beatrice Crew's refuge since closing. You can imagine what the door is like, so make sure that they are expecting you or you won't be let in.
