A-MAZ-ING. A friend from PA came to NYC to visit me and wanted to go somewhere "high class" so we went with Tao since it boasts of famous people and glam. I was able to get a reservation that day via http://www.opentable.com. It was an early one but who cares? We got in. It was a very dark interesting atmosphere and it felt later at night inside than it really was outside. The staff was nice and we were seated very close to the time of our reservation. Then the food arrived. Holy Crap! The Miso Glazed Sea Bass was the best piece of fish I've EVER had. Seriously. It melts in your mouth. I don't even remember what else I ate and I felt I needed a cigarette after I finished (and I don't smoke). Tao is worth trying out and I thought the price was fair for what you got.

I did my birthday here this past July. Overall a good place to go to, but I won't be coming back. As for the positives, the staff is responsive and the atmosphere/rooms are cool. As for the negatives, the English song selection is decent, but not great. Also, and this was really annoying, the song books are not organized by artist; they are only organized by song. Overall, we had a great time karaoke-ing (who doesn't have fun singing karaoke?) but, at the end of the day, I'll be taking my business to a place with a wider variety of English songs.

fun time, gets a bit crowded - would have scored better if the DJ played better music! Went on Saturday for a birthday gathering and the music sucked, but danced anyway...
