Better than the Velvet room I can tell you that. Its more of a laid back grown and sexy spot. They dont really dance to much here, I can say however the people who do dance are usually out of towners or people who just started clubbing. Friday - 107.9 hosts with Emperor Searcy, the music is usually hip hop, after they go off the radio at 2, it gets a little more 'real' in a sense because they let their hair down as far as hip hop music goes. A lot of AUC, and State kids come here so its really a college crowd with 20 somethings. Males dominate on this night, ratio is prob 2-3guys to 1 girl. Saturday - is grown and sexy more mature crownd. they play a variety of music, old skool, new skool, up top, dmv, cali, etc. the people in here dance, but selectively age randge from mid 20s-late 30s. Ratio is prob 1:1, evenly dispersed. Drinks are small, but good if you get the right bar tender The bathrooms are clean! One of tthe few clubs that have a clean bathroom. All in all a good club that will be around for ages. To get in, like all other clubs, esp if a celebrity is there the general admission line will be long, (dont fret though, free parking, doesnt get as crowded as it used to) VIP is about 40-60 depending on the night. They sometimes honor email passes, sometimes dont. But if you get there early enough, you're good.

Like I've said before: Usually Style + Scene is inversely proportional to the quality of food but look no further. Gastopub+Lounge=Gastro-lounge This is the new trend that you can expect to see with the current demise of nightlife elsewhere but I don't mind. Bottle service is dead, "Table service" is the new trend. Alcohol tends to make someone build up an appetite and Avenue is going to cash in. Ever been dancing on a banquet and wanted a Lobster roll? Picture two floors each equipped with a bar, high ceiling, DJ, and Parmesan Truffle Fries. The space is owned by Noah Tepperberg from Marquee and has been Paul Sevigny and the Beatrice Crew's refuge since closing. You can imagine what the door is like, so make sure that they are expecting you or you won't be let in.

I think I would give this place 3.5 stars if it allowed me to. I've been here several times with my girls and each time was a completely different experience. The first couple of times were difficult to get in...and when we did, the crowd was terrible. The place was packed with girls (which, I suppose...would make guys happy)...but the crowd was as snooty and unattractive as Hollywood elite would allow. We were definitely all very turned off especially when a camera was stolen out of the girls bathroom. The venue itself was pretty sweet and has a very classy yet modern feel to it. The first few times we went, only the club Opera portion was open. The club completely redeemed itself on a Saturday night. They open at 10:30 on Saturdays but we were able to get into the club without any hassle after 11. The place was already packed inside and ready to go. On Saturdays, the Crimson lounge portion also opens up, so Opera/Crimson becomes a fun place to walk around in. The crowd was way better looking and the ratio was a lot better where more guys were trying out the bottle service. Music was fun and having the option to wander through chic venues of both Crimson and Opera really made the night.
