this place has likable character and a good staff. the burgers are pretty good and cheap but with surprise temps. beer selection is good. before the djs or bands or whatever come in at night, they have itunes digital dj or something like that which you can use with the "REMOTE" app on your iphone to select songs like a jukebox from their playlist. dont act like you rateclubs nerds dont know what im talking about

So THIS is where the scene in Boston has been hiding! I was really beginning to wonder where all the upscale clubs existed...the ones hear about with a good looking crowd, great music and a really fun vibe? It's here, at Rumor. Unbeknowst to me, a Boston newbie, I am sure this is old news to most of you who frequent these places, but Rumor is a hot spot. I love the layout, the dual rooms (one for house/mash-ups/hip-hop and one for Latin/International, which, as I soon found out...you have to know someone to get in there). A friend brought me here with his crew, who knew the door guy, and the people hosting the Latin room, and a few more of the "those in the know" crowd, so the usually complaints of long lines and a steep cover price, etc., didn't apply that night. It was nice to see people all decked out, dressed to the nines, looking chic and fabulous, dancing the night away. My only complaints: one coat check at the bottom of the stairs...not a wise logistical decision for such a busy place. Also, its seems that few people have any grasp on crowd etiquette...pushy-shovey, elbowing everywhere. Granted, it was super busy, but still! A slight nudge and an excuse me goes a long way, people!
