by Carolen M. on Went here for my friend's birthday party at 10pm. The line for the guestlist was around the corner. It was nuts. To get in, they wanted guy & girl pairs. It took 45 minutes before we got in. The pay line got in so quickly, but then again you had to pay $20. So I thought, we were going to get in for free...I guess my inexperience in clubbing failed me cause we had to pay $10. *sigh* Anyways, the place was packed. It was a fire hazard waiting to happen. The line for the ladies room was so long, but at least they had a system down. Drinks were $8.50 each. The DJ was pretty good, but what is it with them playing only portions of really good dance songs? He did a weird set of 80s songs which I appreciated, not sure how everyone else enjoyed them. When do you ever hear "Let's Hear it for the Boy" in a club? Some transitions were weird from fast to slow. Well it was a good guy to girl ratio but they really do need some ventilation in that place. I was drenched in sweat so many times that I had to stop dancing just to de-sweatify. Clubbing experience #3 was much better than #2, but still don't see the appeal of clubbing besides giving girls a reason to "slut up". Anyways, conveniently located to Powell Station BART, music good, ratio good, just needs better ventilation.
