by Lauren C. on As soon as I walked in to Gold Room, I was surprised by how small it is. Its pretty much only one large room with an upper-level VIP area looking down from above. The size initially turned me off, but it ended up not being a big deal and we had a great night! We came early to Gold Room for a Net Party on a Thursday night around 8:30pm. The club was somewhat crowded with everyone networking and chatting. As the night progressed the crowd changed from the net-workers to a more club/lounge crowd. There were a decent amount of people there - both singles and couples and groups. They brought out the dancer box and the DJ started playing some great dance music probably around 11pm. We ended up staying till almost 2 dancing and having a great time. Overall no complaints. Its a cool new place that's worth checking out. I'm looking forward to going back some Fri/Sat night to see what it's like on the weekend. My only complaint was that the giant gold stripper pole in the middle of the floor is wayy too big to be a pole and actually looked like a strange pillar in the middle of the club. I think they should have ditched the pole and just gone with the gold decor to celebrate the location's history and they would have been better off!
by Roland Callen on I hate this place. I don't care if you were featured on sex and the city or you have a great club in vegas or if you have a majestic buddha statue with all your dim lighting. Your food sucks and is overpriced and caters to people who shell over big bucks for sub par pan-asian food. I'd say this is just one of those places that people go to so they can say they've been to it before. I paid $35 for a pad thai and shared dumplings. NO. Never again in this life.
