by Chadwick Whitling on I normally never post anything, but this cautionary tale had to be told: My friends and I(2 good looking girls) were outside waiting to get in. We were talking to the bouncer(LT) and asking him how it was for us to get in. He replied"here is my biz card ,you have to text me before you came ...we have to build a relationship....."!! I was shoked! after 30min of wating outside when everyone getting in..fat,ugly,old...we asked L.T why he treating us like that ?? L.T replied.. "you have not been invited..fuck off" infront of everyone..such a low class style.. Do you WANT to get sued for defomation of carecter? ? I WILL NEVER GO BACK,THERE IS SO MANY BETTER PLACES THAT WILL TREAT PPL NICER ON A SAT NIGHT!!!
by Clark Bassani on I should have heeded all the other reviews that talk about how awful this place is, but noooo, I had to do the whole "let me see for myself" thing. BIG MISTAKE!! This place IS as bad as people say. So my husband and I decide to go on a Saturday night because they were advertising free admission for ladies (before midnight) and gents (before 11) and a one hour open bar (10-11). My husband and I get there at 10:30 and we're all excited because we're thinking we're both getting in for free and we can score a couple of free drinks...ha, yeah right. So I found out that ladies are free, but guys weren't (and had to pay $30!!). I put up a fuss and was about to leave when this one doorguy ended up giving my husband a comp ticket, so we figured we're here, let's just have a drink and check the place out. I asked one of the bartenders if there are specific open bar specials (usually open bars are just well drinks, etc.) and of course he looks at me like I'm speaking anything but English and eventually tells me that there's no open bar. I just about had it right there. The music was bad (some really awful hip hop), the decor is crap (don't be deceived by pictures), and most of the people that work there are unhelpful. I go out to destress, not add stress to my life. It's too bad we can't give a place zero stars. This is my first time rateclubsing because I was so turned off by this place, I just had to let others know.
by Matthew S. on I came here the other day because I was a bit early for a show at the Independent...didn't have any of the food (but that did smell real good)... So my review is about the bar area of the establishment. And...they had Newcastle on tap! My favorite! The over-worked, frazzled bartender was very nice too, even though she was working the whole front room by herself... But overall, I did like the vibe in this place...nice and mellow, I think this will be my new pre-going-to-the-independent place to have a drink (Fly is to hoity toity for me) I also like the little side "room" that is in the hallway...very romantic!
