by Jeni Doroff on It looks like I need to tone down my review of this place so here's a more straight up version. We went to Roe early January 2009. My sister printed out confirmation on the guest list for our party of five that was there. Her friends joined us subsequently. The initial line was not long. Please keep in mind that everyone was on the guest list as my sister had caught all our names on there. My sister and her boyfriend was let in with no problem. A friend of ours and I was let in as well but the lady at the door stopped my boyfriend for completely no reason. Her name was Jesse. My sister told me that she saw his name on the boyfriend and that I was not to worry. However, Jesse was unreasonable and refuse to check the guest list again. She screamed at us, which was gratuitous if not just plain rude and insisted that we move inside. My sister explained to the security guys.The bouncers looked apologetic but they were apparently used to this. She was pretty much in our face, screaming. We were pretty meek in comparison. We just want her to calm down and stop yelling. Didn't work :( It's not an easy job and not everyone can do it well. Needless to say, I don't think she should be working the line. Might do well as a bouncer though. As someone else later mention, this may be a scam at the club. I don't know why they would intentionally hold anyone back (bad karma imo) with no reason whatsoever. The inside decor was nice and the bartenders were friendly. I really would have liked this lounge a lot better if it wasn't for Jesse. She pretty much ruin my first impression. Needless to say, if you got in without a hassle, count yourself lucky.
