I never wanted to write a review about Sisters. I equated it to kicking an already-wounded kitten. If that's not a gruesome enough mental image for you then I suggest dropping by Sisters on any given Saturday night. Oh my bad. My main complaint with Sisters has always been 3 legitimate things that they could improve on: Staff/Bartender attitudes, Decor and Music Selection. I wouldn't bash a place based on their clientele because they can't help who frequents the bar, however that is the #1 reason why I do not like going there and the misery was always compounded by inattentive bartenders and gruff doorpeople. It made for a trifecta of horror that has given Sisters a bit of a reputation. I've been to Sisters on your basic weekend night, I've been to Sisters on random weeknights.... I've been to Sisters during special all-ages events held during the day, and after last night, I've been to SIsters for a specialty fundraiser night. Prior to the daytime event and last night's Philly Freeze event I would of given Sisters 1 star. Maybe 2 because their food is decent for barfood and I think their drinks are reasonably priced and consistantly strong. But I'll factor in the last 2 times I've been there and have experienced MUCH friendlier staff, a younger crowd, and.... OK well the music was still shitty. I won't name DJ names but I'll just say that 90's era dance tunes weren't good in the 90's, and they're even more intolerable now. No one wants to hear C+C Music Factory, not even ironically. Given the choice there are other bars in the area that I'd rather frequent. If I had to suggest a lesbian bar to visitors of Philadelphia would recommend Stir, based on the clientele (younger, hipper scene) and the dance music/DJ's there are better. But thank you to the staff the other night who were nice and accommodating with the drinks (especially the upstairs bar - downstairs was still a typical hassle to get noticed for drink orders) I think the girls from Philly Freeze made some well-deserved cash for their league and I know I had fun with my friends which I never thought I'd say out loud in the context of a night at Sisters.

After the staff promised me a reimbursement for a lost coat (which was their fault), they have refused to return my 8 phone calls and 3 emails. Poor customer service. We'll see if they ever get back to me.
