by Kari P. on So here's the deal: Sloane is one of those places that would have gotten a much higher rating had they not acted as though you were about to get into the hottest club in town. They need to accept the fact that they are a bar- not a club. They charge a cover- so get on the list! And even if you are on the list- it will take them forever to let you in even if the line is not that long. Then you get in there and realize it is just a bar that has been nicely decorated- it could have easily been an Irish pub in its past life. There is no dance floor, so everyone just crowds around the bar, which creates an awkward vibe. The DJ was spinning what sounded like a Tainted Love concert. Don't get me wrong, I love kickin' it to Simple Minds Don't You Forget About Me, it just seemed terribly out of place with the the vibe they are going for. I would except some swanky house music or something. To wrap it up, there are so many other places like Sloane in the city that are less crowded, less pretentious, and without a cover charge.

Great Vibe, Dj's who can actually mix and get the crowd moving, zen-like outdoor chill/smoke space with fountains and ferns, knock-out drinks and hot crowd that is there to get down and not just stand around and show off their latest armani gear!
