Another predominantly Asian nightclub. I remember when it used to be called Bas (as in bass clef) and some of my older friends remember it when it used to be Bien Bien. Anyway, I've come here a few times because my friends are friends with the owners and bartenders and so I had no problems getting in or getting drinks but the crowd is typical bay area Asian. Typical top 40 music, horrible ventilation in the smoking rooms. Why do I torture myself and sit around in a smoky hazy, smelly room? But I suppose it's better than sitting on one of the long couches/seats smelling fresh vomit because some lightweight couldn't hold in his liquor long enough to make it to the bathroom. I honestly am over the typical Asian club scene. Not that I really was ever *into* it, I just stopped going to clubs with my friends. I do wish that I actually had the nerve to do a booking at Le Prive in K-town ( http://www.rateclubs.com/bi...) ...too bad that place is closed now.

I have heard from a secret source that Trudy's Mexican Martinis are Margaritas with a little extra. That does not take away from their brilliance. I used to hang out at Trudy's all the time when I lived over there. Every time someone says they live anywhere near 30th street I gasp and excitedly exclaim, Oh, You live right by Trudy's. Obsessed? A little :) As previously discussed in multiple reviews, The Mexican Martinis are why you go there. The food is, ehh, ok. The rest of the drinks are, eh, ok. The service is good. (Unless you get a mean waiter, which happens every once and a while, especially when you just order Mexican Martinis and nothing else.) But if you haven't been, it's a restaurant you must check out. For faster service, go straight to the bar, it is much easier to get a seat, even during happy hour.
