by Jennifer B. on This place is a nice venue to watch a live show. It's spacious and pretty clean and not expensive. If it's canned, they carry it here. They even had a Belgium White in a can. That being said, when I asked the bartender how much, she said $3. She then walked over to another bartender to confirm the price and he said, "I don't know $4 or $5." She walked back over and said $5. So who knows if I was blatantly overcharged or not. Still, at $5 it was a deal, but I wish I hadn't heard the exchange between the two. There are large booths in the front bar area that are great for big groups. 4* for the venue 2* for the service
by Chris D. on =[ I miss the old ShampOoOoOO where the place was packed with house-heads and everyone looking for a beat. So i wouldve given it 5 stars but its just not the same. (LUCKY I GAVE IT 3 HA) Me and my friends would revolve our weekend around Shampoo for Lifted Sundays. From the age of 17-20, it definately was our stepping grounds to hear good trance/dance & techno (in the mainroom). Downstairs was all hip-hop and then sometimes they would open up the Groove Garden which was filled with MORE trance & progressive music and thats the rooms we stayed in. Now Shampoo doesnt even have anything dedicated to REAL club music. Hip-Hop is not club, sorry guys.... so many nights of being underage and desperate for a good spot with good music, we would wait inline sometimes up to a half hour....in the snow, in the rain, just wanting to get in and dance and they were honestly some of the best nights of my life For all who havent been...its one of Philly's "Mega Clubs" meaning its super big...which it is, atleast 3-4 different rooms to party in (ALL now with the same annoying top-40 shit) and the coolest set-up a club could ask for. The bar UPSTAIRS in the mainroom is filled, but try to not get too annoyed with the bouncer asking to see your I.D every single time u enter the 21+ area. Shampoo just isnt like it used to be...... Its a thing of the past filled with abunch of kids who have kids, now dancing to horrible music R.I.P SHAMPOO (circa 02-06)
