I can't believe how much I enjoyed their Tuesday Night Special. Get ready for this. They have a really good Crispy Fried Chicken with spicy Korean dipping sauce. The fried chicken is chopped into smaller pieces than your typical western style. You combine that with the batter on the outside, and at times it's hard to tell which section of the chicken you're going to bite into. I kinda liked this; it was like a grab bag, or a box of chocolates, or a bag of scrabble letters. Anyway, if you know how to eat around bones, you'll be fine. What's better than their really good Crispy Fried Chicken (with spicy korean dipping sauce)?, the Pork Katsu. It has a breaded exterior that stays crunchy. The pork cutlets themselves aren't overcooked, which I found amazing considering the rate with which they churn these suckers out (more on that point later). Furthermore, the Pork Katsu comes with the most righteous of Korean-inspired smothers. I smothered the pork Katsu with them, I smothered the chicken with them, and at one point I experimented by smothering my salad with them (ill-advised indeed). And finally, they serve a house wine that agreed with the Chicken, the Pork, the Budweisers, and my stomach. One big happy... Oh right, what is their Tuesday Night Especial? All You Can Eat chicken, and pork. And, wait for it; All You Can Drink wine, and beer. $18 Done! And done!

my friend informed me that him and his friends were going clubbing in ktown, and invited me to come along and experience my first ktown outing. being that i'm honorary korean (i've lived with korean roommates for 4years), i happily obliged. that, and he had me at "they play wonder girls here." sold! on the outside, the place doesn't look like much. upon walking in, i was amazed. the interior is GORGEOUS. the high ceilings, curtain/drape things, the lighting, everything was really pretty. i had been given a quick lesson on what booking was before i came here, but luckily, my guy friends told me that i was safe with them. yay! at our table, 5 guys and me..the only girl..naturally, they asked me to be their wing girl, and if ugly chicks come to our table, get them to leave (politely), if good looking chicks come, trap them there! haha it was funny watching girls being seated at our table...some of them looked really uncomfortable, there were awkward silences...i'm so glad i wasn't them. why come over to the table if you're not going to talk?!? i feel bad for guys there, they must feel like borderline rapists when the girls seem like they don't want to be there. whatever, i chilled with the drinks and tray of fruit. bottle service is nice (and expensive). =/ i'm sad i wasn't more buzzed and i didn't have my girl friends there, so i didn't dance much..but they DID play good music..really good music. i loved the mix of r&b, hip hop, korean and even house music! maybe i just got lucky because i came with boys, so i didn't have to endure being "dragged involuntarily" to other tables, but i had an awesome time here.

OSLO was the most stylish sushi bar I've been to that surprised me greatly when my friend took me here in downtown Detroit. The super stylish-modern decor made me feel like I was in New York, Miami, San Francisco, and the sushi chefs were impeccably polite to me. They had the BEST sushi tempura rolls here. I wish I coulda ate here more often when I was in town. Reading Duke A's review breaks my heart ~ I only hope that they have better staff when they come back because Detroit needs more places like these.
