by Morgan D. on My boyfriend and I live right up the street from this location and we were very excited to try La Vida after it opened. We went in for Happy Hour on Friday and it was great! The bar is a bit small, but our bartender Brad was nice and super helpful by bringing an extra cocktail table for us when our food arrived. The cocktails were delicious, I suggest their signature cocktail: La Vida Passion if you like grapefruit. We had an array of food items including some amazing fried squid. No, not calamari, this was WAY better than any calamari I've had. The lamb meatballs were delicious too. The ambiance was very cool. Our bill was around $60 for the both of us and that included 4 drinks and 5 food items. A really good value! Mediterranean-influenced ambiance and menu. There's a firepit in the outside area and the lanterns are my favorite part of the decor. I can't wait to check out the night scene!
by Buford Garica on 12.13.08: Is this place really that great? I always have been curious about this place since the reviews are pretty good. I seriously thought I was lost since I felt I was driving through the ghetto. There were bums on the streets and it was just my luck that they didn't have a parking lot. It was all street parking. They had valet and since I didn't want to walk the streets alone, I opt for valet which only cost $10. Lets just say I was scared of valet because it was a parking lot one to two blocks away. Admission costs me another $5. The place was tremendously packed. Luckily we had a table that was in the front of the place. We had enough space to walk and dance and do whatever we liked. There were two rooms and the first room stunk like skunk. I have been to crowded places before but this was the worst. It took me 15 minutes to walk to the restroom. No one was moving. The next room where the restrooms were located was fun. I really like the atmosphere and the DJ was freaking awesome. So I had a really great time and if it wasn't too crowded I think it would have been better. Overall this place is fun to hang out and boogy down, but I don't know about the parking..That leaves this place with a 3.5 for me.
