This is pretty much one of my top 3 places to go in NYC. I'm a regular at Marquee I love it and I have never had any issues. I have only waited on a line once the first I went and havent waited since then. Single guys highly recommend you bring a date or do bottle service because the door is very selective. Crowd is very trendy nothing ghetto about this club.

I think it's a good idea to keep some perspective regarding The Gallery. It seems that people can't divorce prior violence here from the site itself, disproportionately more so than with other city landmarks. More so than say a slew of rapes on Pine. People are still hitting up Antique Row. With their nanas no less. Mocking The Gallery became the cool thing to do at some point. Exhibit A: See rateclubs reviews. This negativity no doubt exacerbated all of the things people complained about. Lack of patronage only worsens the "ghost town" atmosphere as more stores are forced to close. This attitude doesn't leave room for some of the establishment's pluses. It's still a pretty decent place for carless city dwellers to pick up some homegoods at Big K or baby registry presents at Burlington Coat Factory by foot or public trans. Multiple gaming stores mean you can be on several waiting lists for new games or systems within a matter of minutes. And for commuters (since it is also a subway station), if your train is delayed you can pick up a Hart's ice cream cone and walk around. When you forget or finish your daily read, there are a few discount bookstores for you to quick pick something up. Is it destination shopping for out-of-towners? By no means. So yeah, it's a little weird that The Gallery is right by a bundle of tourist attractions. In that respect it does seem like a wasted opportunity. But does it serve a certain purpose for residents? Hells yes.
