$3 shots and $1 beers? Beer pong? This place is definitely not a place that I would have expected to find in New York. I was with a group of girls and being the gentleman that I am, I went in to buy the first round of shots. I received the shots and expected to see a tab of $40 dollars or so for the 4 shots, but I looked down at the bill and saw that it was actually only $12. When I saw this, I thought he miscounted, and quickly signed the paper and left. Then, we went for round 2, 3, 4.... Eventually, I came to the realization that I must be dreaming or this bar was the greatest bar in all of New York. We played flip cup, beer pong, and honestly, the entire night was very cost effective. The only negative is we took quite a bit of shots and we definitely were still a tad bit normal for the sheer amount that we took. So, be careful that it might be a bit watered down. But, besides that, this place is great! I can't wait to go back to New York just so I can revisit this place once again.

Since moving to LA, I've seriously gained 7-8lbs. That's a whole lotta crap that I've been putting in my mouth. I must lose weight!!! Maybe next year. :) but first I've gotta review this awesome restaurant called XIV. This place was superb! We came here for a birthday party and all were pleasantly greeted with a 11 course tasting menu. Each "tapas" dish was presented tastefully on a silver platter for about $8 per dish. You do the math... The cool thing was that everyone and anyone received fiji water....not tap! and the waiters kept refilling our glasses with fiji water. I would be back again XIV because you were just so scrumptious!

You really can't beat "Lookout Weekend" on Fridays at 111 Minna. Open Peroni and Fernet bar from 4-5pm and free snacks like croissant sandwiches and not to mention, no dress code and no cover. It only SUCKS now that I work 'til 6pm, and though I don't think they have this every Friday, once I find out, I'm playing hooky and beginning happy hour here and then hitting up the whole neighborhood with Osha, Harlot, 83 Proof, John Colins and maybe ending at Temple. I've also been here for a SFAMA mixer (getting my networking ALONG with my grown and sexy on) with the Stoli girls (hello, more free booze and booze specials) and sushi. There was supposed to be a cover, but there was no one at the door. It was a chill and relaxed early evening. Another time I came here was to support my friend DJing for some woman's birthday party when she rented out the whole venue. Totally different vibe. Old skool, slow jam 80s. Fun and hip, the music varies, crowd varies and the art exhibits vary too. The venue is cool, but it's nothing to get OMFG excited about, though maybe I haven't stuck around long enough to find out.
