by Kim W. on I love Geno's. Wish I lived closer, but glad I don't (calorieees). I definitely prefer Geno's to Pat's. I have even taken a 1/2 day to make the drive to Philly just to treat my daughter (er, myself) to Geno's. It is a SURE guilty pleasure. Yes, the staff are abrupt. They are supposed to be. It's part of the feel of Geno's and Philly. If they were doting and oozing with fakeness, you'd have a problem with that too. They are being themselves, so let them. I always get a Whiz Wit. (that's Cheez-Whiz with onions, for those who don't know the lingo). Be happy they don't kick you out of line for ordering wrong. It's Geno's! Now I want a cheesesteak.
by Tania Tan on My girls and I always use this place as our rendezvous point for the evening. It's not a hole in the wall (I'm a girly-girl and thus, allergic to pubs and dives of all sorts) but it's not worth spending your entire night here either. I've never really seen this place "poppin' " Surprisingly had an absolutely fabulous Mojito here though. Mmmm!
