Had a stellar night last night, with a couple of caveats: -They don't open the dance floor until 11:30pm. WHAT THE HECK. (especially stupid considering the club opens at 10) -Drinks seem watered down to me but otherwise... -stunning venue; felt like I was in a club from a movie -not-excessively-creepy crowd (compared to the clubs I've been to in Hollywood, anyway) -good-sized dance floor -super clean bathrooms, with attendant -pedestals for girls/boys that are so inclined to get up and shake it ;) -Only $10 cover because we were on the guestlist and made it in before 11 -two gogo dancers

Meh. Aja looks swanky but the food leaves much to be desired, which is unfortunate since they do charge high prices. I got the tempura lemon chicken with lychee and scallion, had someone's hot chili seafood, and another person's honey ginger chicken and dragon roll. The food was bland and tasted funny. Usually I'm really excited to have leftovers because they make a delicious midnight snack/next day lunch, but when I had the leftovers the next day, I ended up throwing most of it out because it tasted gross. Maybe Aja should spend less money on its glam looks, and more on improving the quality of food because for all the red paint, black drapes, giant buddhas and valet boys, don't forget your business is that of a restaurant, and if you are selling food, cook it well.

Taken by a local friend while we were visiting Phili & it surely it's a nice expereince, I like everything about Tangerine-The food, the decor, the staff, the price, EVERYTHING! If you're looking for some French/Moroccan/Greek-fusion type of seafood & steak, you won't disappoint it with Tangerine at Phili!
