Well last Friday I decided to take the wife to a nice dinner. I made reservations at Maggiano's Little Italy at 8pm. We arrived at 7:50pm and they could not find my reservation. OK what's going on after a few more checks the found that my reservation was made for Saturday instead of Friday? The bar and restaurant was packed, so I was guessing we would need to go to Mickey D's for dinner then. The girl at the counter said she would talk to the manager to see if they could work is in. We said OK and got our ringy dingy thing and went to sit outside in the bench beside the restaurant. It was nice out and I enjoyed all the young guys and girls that appeared to be headed to a prom coming and going from the restaurant. The girls were dressed to the tees with very nice dresses of all kinds. And of all the guys the various color tuxes looked good as well. Our wait was 30 minutes not bad for what was going on that night. As we were seated I noticed that this was a large place with many tables and the décor was very upscale. My wife ordered the Linguine & Clams with Red Clam Sauce, she liked it very much. I ordered the chicken parmesan, and I like it as well. I added a side of green beans which my wife like better than I. The bread was great we both loved it. All their deserts looked great and thy had a sampler of smaller portions for a cheaper price, I went for the homemade profiteroles which was pastry shell filled with vanilla bean ice cream and topped with hot fudge and fresh whipped cream; dusted with cocoa powder and powdered sugar. My wife ordered the Maggiano's signature spumoni made with a blend of pistachio, chocolate and cherry ice cream. The spumoni was three large scoops; of course I had to help my wife eat it. The deserts were great. Overall we liked it, our waiter Aaron was great and attentive and my tea glass was never left un-full and our service was quick and efficient even though they were packed. I enjoyed the people watching especially the promsters! Would we go back? Yes but maybe on a week night instead of a weekend.
