We went for the Tuesday night special. I can't believe it took me so long to take advantage of unlimited domestic beer or house wine and giant bottomless bowls of fried chicken for $18 per person. We got there around 6 and had to sit at the bar, which wasn't ideal but the place was packed and no one was getting up til 8 pm when the special was over. The fried chicken was hot and fresh, but not a feat of culinary genius. The sauce they brought for dipping tasted like jazzed up ketchup, so I could have gone for a little more flavor with the chicken. The sticky rice cakes they brought... I was the only one in my group who ventured to eat it, and I have no idea what it's supposed to taste like so I won't comment. I didn't particularly love it, but I didn't find it disgusting. The sauce was good for adding some kick to the chicken. I made the mistake of ordering an absolutely DELICIOUS watermelon martini and my friend got "the best lychee martini" she's ever had when we first sat at the bar. Switching to Coors and house white wine was a huge, sad downgrade. The bartenders were so cute, not to mention friendly and attentive. I was also pretty impressed with the decor and atmosphere at this place; I was expecting the typical Koreatown joint, but it really felt like a lounge. They played Jay-Z from Reasonable Doubt all the way to BP3 and dimmed the lights. I will definitely be back for the Tuesday deal and possibly even on a regular night to sample other Korean fare from the menu.

this place is tiny. thursday nights are $20 for bar seats and $35 for tables. my visiting brother and i hit the bar. we came to see the recently nominated yellow jackets. there's a $10 drink minimum. i had a hot toddy. let's just say they don't skimp on the bourbon. one star for that. our vantage point from the end of the bar was meh. the set up isn't favor if you are sitting at the end of the bar closes to the entrance. i didn't mind not seeing the musicians at all times, but for those of you that do get there early to get your primo bar seat. it's first come, first served. bonus: they invited kids to stay for the second set at no cost. i guess it was slow. not sure they do this all the time.

I personally don't think Williamsburg/Greenpoint has enough concert venues. (Studio B, Warsaw, Luna Lounge, Music Hall Of Williamsburg to name a few) - Anyway, I know this is actually a Polish nightclub that happens to put on an awesome concert once in awhile (a la Warsaw), so I was expecting some taped together version of a stage, but as I walked in - I was pleasantly surprised. The decor of the place is pretty cool, the space itself isn't too big, or too small. The stage is placed in the corner of the building so it seems like there is ample room, but the seating area on the side may take away from that. I personally find it a plus that there are spots for you to sit down and watch the performance, as I'm getting too old for the standing. There is bar is towards the back, with blonde-bombshell Polish bartenders, plus the drinks were reasonably priced. These are all pluses in my book of venues. A situation occured when one of the bands schedule to play had visa issues so they weren't going to play, but the owners of the club decided on keeping it open a bit longer to accommodate the band. I was very surprised by that gesture. Most places won't adjust to a situation like that. I would definitely go see a show here again, even though the sound was decent enough, but I can see it possibly getting better in time and becoming a nice smaller sized venue in the area - it just doesn't compete with Warsaw though.
