I'm not a tourist, under the age of 21, or a B & T grease-ball trying to get laid with a chick that doesn't know better. There for, this place does nothing for me.

Cielo conjures up memories of some really amazing nights [Howells...Garnier] and then some really random nights...a few years back when most of the small, underground clubs had shuttered, Cielo had recently opened and wanted to cater to the clubbers searching for that ever elusive perfect dancing experience. And well, it has and it hasn't. I've learned my lesson and I will only go to Cielo for specific DJs and if I can buy tickets in advance. It's totally worth it then, especially if it's a weeknight. Any other weekend night is just not worth it. If you are a group of guys, you won't get in. If you are a large group, you will be hassled to buy a bottle or a table and there's a chance you might not be let in at all. They hold the line outside for appearances sake only, even though the dance floor is empty. Drinks are overpriced and because it's a place that pushes the sale of alcohol onto it's customers, it's full of ridiculously drunk people. And I like drunk people...but not when they're stumbling, spilling and slurring all over everyone. And not on a dance floor. In terms of the interior design, the club is dope with it's log-cabin looking walls and pulsating lights. The system is great, but be sure to listen to it from the dance floor...standing around the edges doesn't really do it justice. The sunken dance floor is a bit of a bitch, since you can wind up trying to dance on the small step that leads down to it, while trying not to fall off of it. It also draws a really random, weird crowd on the weekends, for better or for worse. Like, elderly Euro-trash couples slow dancing to techno mixed with NYU brats in stilettos teetering around drunkenly mixed with hard-core audiophiles and clubbers. So yea, like I said, this isn't the place I would just randomly go to for a night out...it's too much of a hassle and it's too expensive. But if I've got an advanced ticket and I know what kind of night I'm in store for, then I'll gladly go. See you there April 3rd.
