Music was awesome! Not too crowded. Drinks were so-so and unfortunately pretty expensive. I didn't even realize there were other floors (where are they?). Get your name on the guest list and get in on time to avoid the $15 cover (unfortunately I still had to pay b/c my friend mispelled my name, they didn't even bother checking other spellings, it takes like 1 minute jeeez!). Felt like a nice crowd too (no ofense to other places- this one didn't feel "ghetto" at all). Also kinda weird, their selection of drinks was not good. My boyfriend asked for a shot of tequila and the bartender said the only one he could get was Patron. He also asked for a beer, only one was Miller. What the hell? How can a bar be so limited?? Minus one star for having to pay cover even though my name was on the guest list (just mispelled...lazy door lady...) - I made sure I was on time too! :( Minus another b/c drinks weren't worth the price (in my opinion) and the selection was poopy.

The owner is a complete JERK. He ruined our night by insulting my date. Chicken platter is glorified, overpriced KFC. The place was completely empty. In hindsight, this was not surprising considering the way the owner treats his own customers. I am a big jazz and blues fan living in the area, but will NEVER GO BACK. Yoshi's is where it's at if you're looking for a good night out with first class acts.

I can't stand the idea of paying $3 for water from the bar. Bottled water. It's an absolutely terrible policy. You pay a cover to get in, acquiesce to ridiculous prices for plastic-cup drinks, get all sweaty dancing in the mob of people, then get screwed over if you want some water to cool down. If the bathrooms weren't so nasty, I'd be tempted to take my god damn plastic cup and fill 'er up in the sink. Screw this place. It could have been such a good time, too.
