Definitely one of my favorite nightclubs in LA especially on Wednesday nights. I love the layout, bottle service is great, and music is usually spot on. Best of all the people who frequent this place somehow don't seem as annoying? There are surprise performances and the themes are fun in case you feel like throwing something crazy together and not getting any evil side-glares. I took a star off because I'm sure if you don't know someone at the door the wait to get in is ridiculous. I always see two huge lines (general admission and bottle service) no matter how early in the night. So I guess my advice is to A) have a name or two to throw out there, B) reserve a table, or C) look exceptionally hot/arrive with a few exceptionally hot girls. Because let's get real here, this is Hollywood. Don't be offended/surprised when you see gaggles of well-dressed beautiful women skip the line and go right pass the velvet rope ahead of you. There is a large parking lot across the street for just $10. Valet is $20 but worth it if the lot is full.

I had two salads, the beet and the frisee/gems. Yes, yes, to be sure they were delicious. I mean wonderfully tasty. My sister had the snapper which she enjoyed very much. We also enjoyed the abundance of A-list celebrities, Nicolette Sheridan dining with David Spade, Marisa Tomei w/Milk producer Bruce Cohen, Will.i.am with a 12 pound girl model, ah, Hollywood congrats you've got your self a Mina, just hope you don't need a hearty vegetable like an artichoke because you aren't going to find it. The elegant chairs you sit in weigh more than your salad and actually Will.i.am's date. A New Day indeed.

I wouldn't have known of the existence of the Frying Pan if I wasn't taking a late night walk with a friend in around Hudson River Park and noticed swarms of people walking in and out of what seemed like an abandoned pier where the trains used to come in to NYC from NY back in the day. We followed a herd of people in and realized we were walking into a bar/lounge. It was entirely outdoors, mostly covered but you could climb up the stairs and sit on the roof as well. The place and crowd itself seemed quite diverse (gender, age, sexuality, ethnicity), relaxed and attitude free, however, the bartenders were all on the unpleasant side. Anywho, it was a a wonderful spot for a chilled drink and conversation after a long and hot day out. There are excellent views of Manhattan and Jersey City from here, and it's right on the water... Just beauitful!
