We waited in line for maybe 20 minutes before my friend went up to the bouncer and sweet talked him into letting us skip the line. We paid a $10 cover and went on our merry way. The place was downstairs and it was pretty packed. The drinks were $12 but because the bartender took forever to charge me she gave the drink to me for free. The music was okay, but the crowd was a bit older (30's). Definitely not what I expected. We had a good time but probably won't be returning anytime soon.
by Ema Ohashi on Aweful. Aweful. Aweful. This place is a terrible place to eat. Talk about a horrible tourist trap. I went here with friends to celebrate a birthday and I have to honestly say that I was so disappointed with the food, the service and the attitudes. I'm sorry, if you're representing a heritage as vivid and colorful as the Cuban heritage is (btw I'm Colombian) you should do it with pride and not disguise it as just another touristy restaurant especially here in Miami. Leave the touristy stuff for Disney World. Our food came out cold, late and the service was terrible. Everytime someone comes into Miami and wants to taste good Cuban food they always want to come here but I always tell them that there are far better places that are cheaper and friendlier. The one thing I do like about this place is the decor. It was done very well but other than that it gets failing grades for everything else.
