Pros: No cover, Polk bar with dance floor and cheap drinks. Cons: Weird people. Overall: If you aren't timid around the slightly abnormal population and want to dance and are in the area come check it out.

Came here for a birthday dinner. It took nearly 2 hours to seat 11 people. But it's friday night, so I forgive them. I didn't have much an appetite so I shared 4 appetizers with 2 other guests. We had the pork skewers, mussels, fried calamari and portabella mushroom fries. The fried calamari was just like any calamari you can get somewhere else. The mussels were delightful, as for the pork skewers, it was ehh a bit burnt actually. The portabella mushroom fries were mMm goooood. But after 2 fries, you kind of get eh about it. Overall, I paid 16 dollars for everything including tip and tax. As for the atmosphere, it was dim but in a good way. We didn't really have a good seating, it was borderline indoors and outdoors. right by the sliding doors. I'm definitely going to come back to try the entrees and dessert. Except with less people next time.

DO NOT PLAN AN EVENT HERE. we made a reservation for my friend's bachelorette party (read: once in a lifetime event) and were told MULTIPLE times that we would (a) not have to wait at the door and (b) everyone in our party would get in. this is the main reason we chose 1 oak, as a smooth party was our biggest concern. upon our early (11 pm) arrival, they acknowledged our party and said they would be ready for us in 20 minutes, so we killed time having a drink at Park. when we came back, the doorman didn't let us in and denied even knowing of our reservation (clearly the first person we spoke to when we arrived not only knew about it, but was expecting us). we were a group of 10 cute girls, tastefully dressed, no bachelorette gear in sight. rumor has it that the club was empty at this point, except for the 3 old men the doorman let in for the "private party" the doorman claimed was happening. this is UNACCEPTABLE. they could have easily told us, in advance, that they don't take bachelorette parties, or large groups, or females, or people under 30, or whatever. but having us actually show up on my friend's one big night only to be turned away is completely ridiculous. so, ***DO NOT PLAN AN EVENT HERE UNLESS YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHETHER THE EVENT ACTUALLY HAPPENS.*** this probably rules out most planned events. additionally, judging by the caliber of people i did see enter the club, i am not sure how much i would want to go at any other point. NJ gold-diggers would probably enjoy it, though.
