Brunch Review: I've been here before, and ABSOLUTELY LOVED everything about the experience - amazing food, bottomless mimosas, gorgeous day and outdoor seating, super friendly & knowledgeable servers, and good prices. Then I went back this weekend (dun dun dun..) I tried calling all week to make a reservation since we had a party of 6+. The only number available leads to the option to leave voicemails for either the cafe or the club. I probably left five voicemails requesting a reservation in both boxes, no response. Then we had to wait 30 min the morning of and was told that normally they don't take parties this large without reservations "but they would make an exception". While we waited, we ordered our bottomless mimosas and paid for them at the bar. Within 5 minutes, the bartender tells us that she's down to her last two bottles of champagne so the bottomless mimosa will end when supplies run out. Thanks for letting me know PRIOR to ordering and paying for 6 of them! Finally, we were seated. The day was still gorgeous and we were all downing the last of our mimosas so that we could get refills before all the champagne was totally gone. When the waitress came to take out order, we found out that the dishes that everyone wanted, were gone. No hollandaise sauce for the eggs benedicts (although theres 5 different types of benedict on the menu requiring this sauce), no hawaiian french toast, no pommes elaine (the only side order besides home fries available for breakfast), and no veggie burger. Literally, everyone at our table had to change their orders. After quite a wait (the restaurant wasnt even that busy, maybe 5 other tables of small groups and 3 servers) - the food arrives at our table, well at least most of it. All but myself and my aunts dishes come, and then after 10 min of no plates in front of either of us, another waitress came and asked if we had even ordered food. After a little while, another waitress came and took our orders again and told us that our orders were never placed. She apologized graciously, and promised to fix the problem immediately. My aunt ordered a cup of soup to hold her over until the food arrived, while I waited - munching off my nephews plate of fries. Another 15-20 minutes passed, and everyone had finished their food and the last of the champagne. Still no food for my aunt and me! My aunt, who was satisfied with consuming just her bowl of clam chowder and a few bites of her husbands sandwich, went to find the waitress to see if they could cancel her order - which they did because they still hadn't fired up her fish tacos! I'm sorry, but in any restaurant I've worked at, the moment theres a mistake like this where a persons plate wasnt ordered with the rest of the group, all other orders are halted until that ones done and served and the problem is eradicated. I didn't get my damn little veggie omelet until everyone's plates were cleared and all the booze was gone. While I was eating my measly little omelet, my cousin and sister ordered a cup of fruit salad each. The bill finally came, and instead of comping my $12 omelet, they comped the $3 each fruit cups. Not to mention, they tried to charge us twice for the mimosas (my mom had to show her receipt from the bar that the drink tab was paid up), and then forgot to take off the dish that my aunt had canceled. All in all, it was a mess. I used to love the food and service, but yesterday was just a total bust. The only reason they got the 2nd star was because the pommes elaine truly are the sh*t.
