2 things I have to get every time I come here: grilled fish tacos served "Nick's Way" and Elote. I'm sure a million reviews before me have explained what "Nick's Way" is, but Elote is grilled corn on the cob spread with mayo, queso (fresco, I think?) and chili powder. Soooo delicious!!! The service is great too; once the elote took just a little longer than usual so the manager served us up some free chips and guac; the guac was delicious and had big chunks of tomato in it (which was pretty good considering I don't even like tomato half the time). Oh and the thing I love about the chips here is that they're actually fried up there at Nick's; they're not the usual cop-out store-or-factory-bought re-warmed chips that most "Mexican" restaurants serve in SF (I'm talking about YOU, Mission taquerias!!!) People I've eaten with here also like the carne asada tacos, as well as the breakfast tacos (they reportedly are so good that they can invade your dreams).

I went there for a show and stopped in for a quick bite to eat. It was not quick, the manager was extremely rude. They charge you for to-go plates. they are under staffed. I would take the extra time and walk around the corner to somewhere else. But the food was good. But I paid for it because it was really expensive.
