Visited for the first time with 3 teenagers. All appreciated the massive beauty and serenity of the aquarium. We didn't rush and chose to take it slow, otherwise we could've been done within an hour. We stretched it to 2 1/2 including partaking in lunch there. Our favorite was the Ocean Voyager where we could've sat for hours to watch these creatures. We saw the piranhas get fed which was quite amazing (not for little children). We didn't pay extra for the Deepo 4D show as I didn't see it as a must see show for our age group. I think the actual cost of the aquarium ($27 per ticket) was pretty pricey. Plus we had to pay $10 to park in the covered lot. I did look for coupons but none worked for us. Absolutely no outside food or beverage can be taken in, which holds you captive to their pricey cafeteria style dining. I understand that they have huge overhead costs but this will prevent a repeat visit very soon. Overall a great aquarium and brought into context the very real damage that the oil spill is causing to the ocean habitats.

Why is it that no matter how much "dressed to the nine" I am, that whenever I enter any club in Hollywood, I feel like I'm reliving high school? Not cool enough to be with the cool kids revisited all over again. Anyway, I went last night for a private party, which was really great. Got in with no problem, probably because it was private so can't really complain about the entry--moved quickly and easily. Once inside: Why is it that, no matter how good the music may be, that no one ever seems to dance? Maybe there's some type of memo being sent around that dancing is so not in, right now. But, perhaps it's because the dance floor is tiny? so that when people do dance, it's almost impossible. There was also open bar. I started running out of smaller bills to tip with and only had a ten dollar bill left. I watched as another friend was able to get the bartendero t break her twenty and then when I asked her if she could break my ten--I felt kind of a slight, and a bit of attitude and she replied "open bar" and wouldn't take my ten and walked away. WTF?! I've never had a bartender say that to me when I've been in open bar situations. If bartender had said, "I have no change" fine--but don't give me attitude about it, especially when I asked you nicely instead of demanding it as I often see other people do. I let that go, and continue. Now one of my guy friend's wants to get another drink and she broke his bill for him, without really much of an attitude. Maybe I'm wearing some type of invisible sign on my forehead that says "Bring the attitude!" 3-stars because easy entry, good music that night, and nice venue. But if not for those, well you can figure it out.
