My wife and I came here for a small celebratory-type dinner tonight. We've been to the Maggiano's in Plano, and so we knew what to expect (generally: good food/service, lousy/loud atmosphere), but we were pleasantly surprised by the sprawling and open layout that helped dissipate the noise. We tried the stuffed mushrooms appetizer, which was fantastic, and we split a caesar salad before our main course. I had the eggplant parmesan and she had the four-cheese ravioli, and we both enjoyed our dishes, though they certainly weren't the best we've had (for the record, Macaroni Grill's eggplant parm is still my favorite). However, the same positive expressions cannot be applied to the service we experienced here, or rather, I should say "are experiencing here", since we are still waiting on our server as I type this draft. It's been over 25 minutes since my wife and I finished our main course, and we've watched our server bounce between two tables in-particular about 5 times over this past 25 minutes, the whole time ignoring us. I don't know if it's because we didn't make a reservation (it's a Wednesday night; certainly not a busy night), or if we're being socially judged, but I've had time to draft this entire review while we waited, and then wait a little longer. Given this, we probably will not be back anytime soon. *EDIT* So a couple minutes after I finished this draft, a manager happened to walk up and ask how we were doing (great timing?). We explained the situation and he agreed that we'd been waiting far too long. He was exceedingly apologetic, comped 50% of our meal price and threw in two free desserts. He also gave us his card, and asked that if we ever returned, that we ask for him so that he could ensure it didn't happen again (though I kinda feel like that's cheating the system if we get good service because the manager has his eye on our table the whole night). His generosity was appreciated and helped turn our sentiment about the evening towards the positive side, so we may yet visit again, though it will probably still be a while.
