by Traci S. on rateclub Math: + 1 star - for the nostalgia factor of this place - it totally reminds me of the Avalon in LA in the design of the interior space, bouncers and price. (it also reminded me that I'm waaaaaaay too old to be hanging out in here). +1 star - And I love the fact that I can get a Maker's Mark and coke, shot of Makers, shot of Patron and Grey Goose & cran for $25 (I guess the young kids don't ask for whiskey in clubs) +1 star for the kids in line in front of me (one of whom gained entry with the fake ID and one of whom did not - what a debauchle) who had the foresight to bring waterbottles filled with cocktails for the 20 min wait to get in. -1 star for the $25 cover -1 star for the angry girl in the club who asked me to check my coat because seeing me with it was bothering her (clearly she has no clue that I box for fun and that I can be easily angered when I have whiskey in my system) -1 star for the "hip hop" room where all of the nicotine addicts retreat for a puff, resulting in a huge clouds of smoke being released into the main dance area every time that door opens. +1 for the parking hook up +1 for the good selection of DJ's (although the music was more trance than house) -1 for last call being at 1:15 and the bar closing at 1:30. That's just wrong +1 for going home with frizzy hair, tipsy and happy and covered in sweat from dancing my ass off. = 2 stars - not mean or biased. just fair UPDATED REVIEW: went to Ruby Skye to see David Guetta - the whole thing was off the chain.! Still had to contend with angry strangerswanting to get tough with me, the smoky hip hop room, crappy last call time, and extra attitudinal bouncers. HOWEVER - David Gueeta and his set (inlcuing the awesome nirvana house thingee was excellent. Therefore, i will ad 1 star.
