I stayed here at The Hollywood Roosevelt the week leading into the Academy Awards - actually 2 days before it all started. So, let's just say LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION I love the feel of this Hotel, the open airiness of the Lobby when you walk in, the black hallways, so very hip ... The desk reception staff were super friendly - I can only imagine they were also pleased to see us, not the oodles of people trying to sneak into the party upstairs - oh and yah, we were friendly! This hotel first opened in 1927 and had a major renovation in 2005, so you can understand that the rooms aren't exactly the newest in town but still fairly modern. The 'newness' isn't the allure here, it's really the Hollywood scene, and sometimes more specifically, the young Hollywood scene. I'm also a sucker for vintage photos of celebs - and my FAVE of Elvis down my hallway ... LOVE it, see pic in Hotel album. ... I heard some rumblings about a supposed haunting here? And it's apparently by Marilyn Monroe. Can't be all bad, right?

I was impressed with the entertainment but not with the food, I would suggest ordering $40 minimum of drinks but not the food... Great date place, especially if you're not in the mood to chat and just hang out...
