I'm a California native, yet when I make my foray into L.A. once in a blue moon, I forget how surreal this life is sometimes. XIV delivers in attractive people, nice ambiance, and good food. We started with this pita/flatbread dish which I thought was bad. The yogurt-y dipping sauce was definitely not psyching me out for a good meal. Everyone else seemed content munching on their triangles, but I was let down. Luckily, they redeemed themselves with my basil gimlet. Instant happiness. We ordered a crapton of food - all of which was great. More memorable than others... potato puree, filet mignon, lamb chops, cocktail shrimp and the spicy tuna on crispy rice (why is this so popular in restaurants now?). The waitresses were all very attentive and friendly. The crowd was mixed and good for people watching. Definitely enjoyed our dinner here, and wish that I could afford to come back more often.

Ok....I fancy myself a "Burger-ologist" I hadn't been to Hill-bert's in 20 yrs....but since it's MOVED to Burnet Rd (between Justin Ln & Anderson Ln; it @ the old Taco Bell place next to Dallas niteclub)...it's alot closer to me.... Anyways, thought I'd break my diet and have a burger. Service: Since it was near closing time it was rather good....no one rushed me or tried to hurry me up. In fact the young guy behind the counter was really nice and helpful Food: I ordered a Chili Cheese Burger on a Whole Wheat bun. The bun was squashed but it was rather good. They put a good amount of chili on it as well as cheese. All in all to paraphrase Samuel L Jackson, "it was a tasty burger" . Liked the fries nice size and crunchy.

I enjoyed this place. We went with a group of friends for my husband's birthday this past May. Most of us have children and rarely get a chance to go out altogether so we made the most of it. We arrived early in the evening on a Saturday night before it got crowded, which ranged in age but very diverse ethnically. There was a bridal shower crew there but I find that pretty standard here in the south. The music was fun and the drinks were reasonable. Can't really say how the 'scene' was for the single crowd since we are all married but the place was packed. Sadly we all had to leave by 1:30AM to relieve our sitters!

Service is rather quick. Best place to go dancing in Juneau. Dj's are always spinnin the tightest joints. If you're hungry, they've got good mexican food you can order up til close. Lots of nice tv screens for watching the big games. Garage doors roll up during the summer so you can "people watch" & check out who's strollin' & drivin' thru town.
