I came here for the SBS Cinco de Mayo on Uno de Mayo event being held on the 4th floor... and well, my good time was in no thanks to the venue and was all in thanks to the SBSers and friends I was here with. SBS did a good job of hosting, and The Greatest Bar did a good job at sucking. On my climb up the flights of stairs that gave me flashbacks of climbing up the many stairs of the Cathedrals in Europe... it looked like there are a good number of large TV's on the other floors where maaaaaaaaaybe, just maaaaaaaaaaybe, it might be an OK spot to have a drink and watch a game. 4th floor - you suck for being so hot and your windows are dangerous! Who would have thought opening a window to let in some much needed cool air to the Africa hot room would result in nearly being impaled by falling glass. Then, your staff being ultra RUDE about the situation. I'm sorry - maybe if you had opened the windows a little bit yourself, we wouldn't have had this problem. DJ - you didn't do a great job, but I can have fun dancing with good people to just about anything... so while I still had fun, it was no thanks to you. Yay for the SBSers and having a fun time, boo to TGB.
by Merissa Holdeman on We went here Friday night for an appetizer and stayed after for the dancing which I can only assume was to avoid a cover. I had fried calamari rings which were ok but what were they thinking with this marinara sauce that tasted like cranberry? The music was subpar top 40 and hip-hop, some of it I wouldn't be caught dead dancing to. And no drink specials! $3.75 for a Miller Lite. My advice for Friday night, if you live on the Boston side of the river, don't cross just for this place. If you live on the Cambridge side, find something better. Either way, find something better. They might have better music on other nights, I wouldn't know.
