Before going to Marquee I heard many good reviews so I decided to give it a try. The several times I been to Marquee my friends and I never pay, so I don't know how much is the cover.. The first I went to Marquee my friends and I had such a GREAT time ( a fight broke out but that didn't ruin our night). The second time I went it was OK I noticed they let just about everyone in and they really don't care how you are dress, which is HORRIBLE. Whatever happened to the UPSCALE MARQUEE? Females wear flip flops (BIG NO NO TO A CLUB). Males wear sneakers and look extremely sloppy, ( IT'S OK TO WEAR SNEAKERS BUT MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN). I don't know why did I even bother going back a third and fourth time because it just continues to get worst every time I go. The place is over crowded, nowhere to dance, out of control white girls ( that would do just about anything to get a free drink, whatever happened to class & respect), you see someone making out in every corner, people pushing, & the music is not the greatest. The only reason I give it three stars is because I had a great time the first time I went but I don't recommend the place. Marquee needs a new management team. If they change the management maybe I will go back.

I've only been here once on a friends' birthday. It was a Thursday so they had the Root Down DJs spinning (old school hip hop/disco hybrids). Very smooth. I liked it. It's a small place, with a few booths and a small dance floor in the middle. There are a couple of rooms but we stayed in the north room. I liked the atmosphere; it was very laid back and not too clubby. Not that I don't like clubs, but I liked that this was a different vibe than just heavy bass and mainstream R&B. Admission is $5. Drink were pricey (2 cocktails = $20), but I guess that's expected. I'd go again.

Go to Luckie for the atmosphere and the drinks...not the food!! Its a nice place to see the "beautiful people" and have great (expensive) drinks but as far as dining, that's a negative. I have the shrimp and grits which were awful. My friend had the fish tacos which were awful. My boyfriend had a streak which was extremely tough. So like I said go for the drinks and the cool hip environment.
