I went to the Bossa Nova prix fixe brunch last week with a group of 11ish for my friend's bday ($35). It was a nice, successful gathering, so  I have to give SOBs credit for their part. The table was set up, the restaurant was clean and spacious, the service was good, they kept our unlimited pitchers of sangria full, the band surprised my friend with the happy birthday song, and the food was divvied out hot and in a timely manner. I guess the point is that I went with good people and had a good time, so I'm biased. But if I'm being objective, the food was pretty regular, and I wasn't the only at the table who said so. Don't misunderstand, the food wasn't bad. But it wasn't special, a tad bland, and had some high expectations to live up to in terms of reputation and claim (it stated on the menu that the stew was the best in NY). I would recommend going here for the ambiance and for groups. But for 4-star food, probably go elsewhere.

Great Irish pub with a great happy hour and friendly bartenders. I can only speak for the weekdays (I'm sure it gets full of Anchor spill-over during the weekends, as evident by some of the other reviews), but if you're looking for a no-nonsense post-work spot to knock a few back, you can't go wrong.

One word for Mansion and it is overrated. I've been there a couple times and have sat VIP and been non VIP once and to be honest you have to spend 500 bucks to purchase a bottle and in order to sit down with all the cool people. Yeah thanks! I really only went because my friend likes going there, It's mostly a spot for tourists from all over who feel like they have to go or they're stay in SobE is incomplete. The bouncers there are kind of dicks and won't work with you like other clubs. Inside it looks pretty gawdy like what you would expect from South Beach. I recommend you check out B.E.D. just right down the street.
