I was completely blown away by Grace Tavern. Good beers. They had around 8 on tap. They even had a sour on tap so this place wasn't messing around. I would have liked a better stout option ( I know it is summer and no one wants stout in the summer but why even carry Guinness then? Although at least that was the most mainstream beer on the draft list). So the beer options were definitely high quality. The atmosphere is great too. An old school metal kinda feel but the bar tenders are super nice. They seemed honestly concerned about trying to find us a table. And then... There was the food. Incredible. The burger I got was absolutely perfect. So juicy. Soft delicious bun. Covered in tasty mushrooms. Excellent fries with a spicy dipping sauce. This place looks like a dive bar but has the food of a quality sit down restaurant. Oh god I want that burger right now. Sorry other reviewers. If you don't like this place it's definitely you and not grace tavern because this place is amazing.

Always, each and every time, jointly and severally it's an excellent experience at Morimoto. The quality of the food is beyond compare; new takes on traditional Japanese classics and the classics are presented at the highest level of excellence. I can safely say that I have tried ALL of the appetizers here and they are all incredible. The rock shrimp tempura and veggie tempura skewers are amazing. The entrees and sushi, again, are just incredible. My problem is that Morimoto was the first restaurant that I ever ate sushi at and now every other place is sci-fi-convention-nerd-pale by comparison. Another note, the service here is superior quality. You can tell that the servers are very well trained and that they take their role seriously enough to provide stately service. It takes a lot to put up with the combined server shtick of both my father and me at once, but the service here accommodates with a smile. The atmosphere is beautiful and can accommodate larger parties. My only complaint is that shape of the lamps on the two-seat tables strongly resembled illuminated sperm. With that, the food, service and ambiance are the real focus. Well done Morimoto, well done.

This place had been in my list of cocktail spots to hit since they opened last month. I had read all of the internet writeups on the place (the decor, the drinks, etc) and was pretty stoked to check it out. Last night I got the chance. Made it past the door guy pretty quickly even though there was a long-ish line (I guess he saw my cute gf first and that helped). Once we made it past the door I noticed what someone else on here already pointed out - a funny smell. smelled kinda like a cheap motel / old bar which was strange considering how new the place is. immediately following that i realized how fucking the loud the music was in this place. and crowded. I was kinda thrown for a second because I was expecting this to be more of a laid back kind of cocktail spot a la pegu club, pdt, death and company, etc. sad to say it just felt like some weird b&t kinda club with nice decor and a nice cocktail list. i didn't get a chance to sample the drinks tho because after about 3 minutes of standing in the main room my gf and I both were like 'let's leave, this sucks'. what a major disappointment. definitely not what i thought it was going to be. hard to describe something as 'glamorous' with loud ass club music being overdriven through tiny speakers. i make my living as a dj. if the owners want to turn this place into a nightclub (and it kinda felt like they were really trying to) they need to upgrade the sound or tell their djs to turn the volume down a notch. the sound quality was harsh and brittle and those speakers were hurting. plus there is nothing like having the music so fucking loud in a bar that people then have to scream to be heard over it and the whole room just sounds like a giant buzz. after we left we walked a few blocks over to this new little bar called ELSA (similar name) and had some wicked cocktails in a cool setting. mission accomplished. shame.
