by Ngan H. on Music, people, drinks, 2 working bathroms earn this teeny tiny spot 5 stars!!!!! I didn't know what to expect going to the L.E.S. last night with my partner in crime. We both were just looking for a place to get some drinks and dance and not deal with any bougie/pretentious crowds or creepy weirdo dudes trying to dance up all on us. I read some good reviews about this place and boy have they been correct to a Tee. I walk in and Biggie and the whole Bad Boy Fam is playing. "Give me all the chickenheads from Pasedena to Medina let Big get in between 'ya.......Can't you see, what you do to me, our love was meant to be, you were made for meeee!" Untz Untz, then a 5 min struggle to the bar because of the miniscule space they call a dance floor...chug a cold Bud Light... Back to the dance floor: "I've been around....I've been around the world...whoaa ooh whoa!!! It's ridiculous how they put they lips on this, don't kiss right there girl friend I'm ticklish! HAAAYYY" OHHH this brings me back to the 10th grade! Wow, I feel old.... Expect to dance your a** off and sing, as in almost losing your voice. Do NOT expect to be "seen" or "discovered" or find your "sugar daddy" or "who is wearing what" blah blah To fully enjoy this experience, I suggest you be born before 1982!!!!
by Margarette Barera on You can clearly tell by all the other reviews here that this is a legitimate Sunday night soulful house party. I visited LA for a weekend went to Spider Club, Avalon (for Steve Angello), and ended my weekend at Deep. Martinez Brothers threw down a pretty sick set... but was cut short because one of the rear speakers blew. All in all, I have to say that of all the partying I did over the weekend, I had an absolute blast at this party. Awesome crowd, black, white, asian, straight, gay, whoever it maybe. No pretentiousness, great music, and just about everyone is there to dance their asses off. I wish we had a party like this (music, crowd, venue) back in DC on Sunday nights.... Parties like this make a good reason to call in sick on Monday -__-
