Bottom Line: The food is nothing to write home about.  The drinks are strong but great.  The entire restaurant is pulsating with a "so trendy it hurts" vibe. Sesame Spinach - a sad bowl of watery salty spinach sprinkled with sesame seeds. Crab Pad Thai - the crab bits were sizable and delicious.  The pad thai was standard, but the entire dish gets cold very quickly. Grilled Scallops - overcooked and chewier than I would have liked. The wicker hanging chairs were really fun to sit/swing in (not recommended if you get motion sick easily).  Music pumped from all sides, so be prepared to yell at your dinner companion.  I felt like I was on the set of Zoolander - so trendy it bordered on ridiculous. I'd recommend it for the experience, and perhaps a few drinks.  The flashing lights and trendy clientèle will distract from the subpar food.

The Mezzanine is an awesome space to host events. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and really go out of their way to help. I got to work with the fabulous Siobhan on an ArtPoint party last week. She was flexible and open to ideas, letting us bring in a live painting performance on the stage and breakdancers on the main floor. They even have a "sound curtain," allowing for different DJs to play simultaneously upstairs and down. The upstairs is divided into three different sections, so you can open as much of it as is necessary for your party. They can also project the DVD of your choice on one of the large walls downstairs. Event staff stay through the night to make sure that everything goes smoothly. I would recommend it as an event venue to anyone planning a large-scale party.

I really do not get why people like this place so much. My friends and I came here for a friend's birthday. This place is heaven and hell. The upstairs has high ceilings. Everything is white, except for the lights. The DJ plays house music and the crowd is minimal. The downstairs is like a cave. The ceilings are low, it's hot and humid. The DJ plays hip hop at ear blasting levels. The crowd is massive. And a majority of them were guys. And these guys are sleazy to the max. My friend and I were dancing together, and these guys were circling in on us. I'm not even kidding. It was like a pack of hyenas honing in on a carcass. And how many times did we have to ignore them, push them away, or run away for them to get the hint that we did not want to dance with them? They seriously would not stop and kept coming back at us. Now, the extra star is simply because the staff were really nice. The bartenders were cool when I asked for water. Thank goodness I had all my friends with me, otherwise, I would not have had a good time.
