Went here last night for a friend's bday. Very attractive people here. Very well decorated spot. Very difficult to get drinks at the bar, I spent $200 at the bar ($100 in tips) and we had to wait roughly 30 minutes each time we wanted a drink. Bouncers are exceptionally rude. I had a lot of fun due to friends I came with but I would not visit again. This place needs to improve on its customer service in the central bar with the brown lighting near the exit (either hire more bartenders or friendlier people). The service is exceptionally shitty here.

Last night I experienced not the first, but the second time I've walked into East Side Show Room and stood helplessly in the foyer being utterly ignored by every semblance of an employee. I'm talking not even a smile cracked by the bartender standing mere feet away, lazily mulling basil in a lowball glass on the counter. Not cool. Greeting me as I walk in the door goes a long way with me. I can more easily tolerate waiting for a table if I am at the very least acknowledged. Not saying 'Hello' to your customers is just lazy and in poor taste. I get that they are popular right now, but for my dollar, I'd rather walk a few blocks down to The Good Knight, where I can get a big wave from the owner as soon as I walk in the door.

Where do I begin with ECCO "mediocre" Lounge... I'm gonna break down the experience starting from the beginning of trying to get in to the venue. 1st off, if you are rolling with a bunch of dudes, don't even bother showing up past 11pm. The bouncers there are douche bags and will make you stand in line. So you gotta show up early if you wanna get in. Otherwise, you gotta have a perfect 1:1 girl: guy ratio if you don't want to wait. Ladies, you're not off the hook either. You gotta be at least some what attractive if you wanna skip the lines, I sadly saw the bouncer turn away 3 "hefty" girls and made them stand in line, only to see 3 good looking blondes walk in no fuss. And I know they weren't on guest list since they never exchanged words. Just a look, and in they went. So that's pretty much the break down of penetrating this cahuenga fortress. So you got in, great! now that you're inside, I'd say the drinks are right in the middle of being expensive and cheap. I've seen worst, and I've definitely seen better. Decent assortment of beer, (I'm just glad they have Stella). Small, usually crowded, patio where all the smokers can lounge. Bathroom is usually congested with hopeful urinates, for both women and men. Wear something light, because it does get warm in here, especially if you start two stepping. Music is always the biggest concern for me when I go out. The venue could be a garage, but if there's good music and a cold beer, it's all sexy. This place has really good music, ranging from electro, hip hop, old school, 80's. That's plenty good variety for me. Only problem is, if you go there more than once, you'll notice the resident DJ spins the same stuff...so if it's your first time, you'll love it. If you plan on going again, wait a few weeks before you go so you forget. Otherwise get really drunk the first time you go, so you won't remember anyways. My overview...the times I've been inside, it's been fun. It's always fun with friends. But this place gets 3 stars cause of all the bouncer-lameless outside. In the end, if it takes you more than 15 min to get in...go somewhere else.
