Music: 3 Setting: 3 People: 4 Drinks/Prices: 2 Visiting Trinity is one of the sacraments of clubbing in Seattle. Everyone does it once. But, like eating a piece of cracker and pretending it's the flesh of some guy: sorta gross, but you see everyone doing it. And when you finally do it yourself, it doesn't quite insqire and awe like you imagined. Trinity is broken out to three rooms, the main hip hop room, the euro techno room, and the lounge room. The music there is .. eh. Lackluster. It's your typical radio mix with nothing unique. The techno room just isn't quite right (something about the speed of the music and lack of variation). The lounge music is barely noticable with all the people talking. I'm not super impressed by it. The setting is old and a bit funky. The main room is completely dark all the time (I'm not sure there's any decloration). The Euro room is like a wierd light neon blue with a chandalier. The lounge is like a Chinese room with wood carving and stuff. Not really upscale and not that interesting. The drinks are expensive. Nothing really special either. But everyone goes there. So it's pretty good for people watching...if you like Asians. I believe it is the defacto club for Asians in Seattle (two korean bars are just down the street). I guess the other good thing about this place is that I haven't heard of anyone getting shot there (unlike Venom or Level 5). So yeah, everyone shows up here eventually, so if you're just getting started, it's a must do.

I like going to Shiner Saloon for the bartenders. They are friendly and quick to serve. They stock Three Olives Bubblegum vodka (my new obsession!). The clientele can be questionable, the first time I came here was during the Texas Tech - UT game and it was total mess of WT. I kid you not a woman motor boated herself on my friend (a girl) and walked away like nothing happened. My advice on Shiner Saloon...go straight to the bar and go in large numbers for protection from motor boat girl!

It appears the fashion is to show a lot of ennui about this place based on many of  the reviews...but I really enjoyed the dinner my boyfriend and I had here. I didn't even go up to the roof top bar so was not subjected to the oft lamented lame plastic glasses.  By the way folks - though we may find plastic glasses ridiculous with Grey Goose, the harsh reality is that rooftop restaurants all have to comply with regulations these days - we have the same thing in San Diego, so it's not really fair to slam the restaurant for plastic glasses -ok, done with my rant now :) I had a couple of vodka martinis that were just right.  We enjoyed the tapa type dishes most of which were quite delicious, particularly the ahi tuna tartare, lump crab cake and pan-seared hanger steak. We also tried - on a whim - the cheesesteak eggroll, which is a bit much.  It's tasty enough but a little too much of a good thing and a bit gimmicky, but still a fun thing to order. Our server was a bit rushed, but it was a busy night, and I have to say the dishes came out fairly quickly and one at a time which worked well since we were never quite done with one when the next one came out. Had I known about the Olde City location, I would have liked to try that one since other reviewers seemed to like it better, but I enjoyed myself just fine at the Continental Midtown.
