by Caitlyn Coster on Terrible, terrible, terrible venue. I read some rateclubs reviews before I came and I should have listened. The line to get in was rediculous, at least 30 min and it was freezing - heat lamps would've been VERY appreciated. Once you get to the front, girl asks which guest list we're on - uh.... I don't know? there's more than one? apparently so. So because I couldn't tell her which one I was on, she "couldn't find" our names and we were instructed to go inside and pay the cover. We were able to convince the cashier that we shouldn't have to pay b/c blah blah blah and she pointed to where we were supposed to go "talk" to someone else, who then led us to talk to someone else. SO DISORGANIZED/CONFUSING!!! I was so confused and every time we were told to go somewhere else or that we couldn't go up the stairs or down the stairs b/c we didn't have the special wristband, I just became more frustrated with this place. And we ended up paying the $20 in the end. Poop. Why aren't all these things spelled out somewhere? Oh yah, there's a back entrance too?? One of my friends said they made her walk all the way around the block to go to the "correct" entrance. Once we were finally away from the "suits", it only took me about 2 minutes to scope out the place: basement - hip/hop, decent dance floor, mixed crowd; 3rd level - terrible "dance music", go-go dancers, and completely overrun with asians. I swear if you weren't asian, you stuck out like a soar thumb! And the douchiest douche bags EVER. At this point I was in desperate need for a drink, 2 vodka red bulls = $27.... omg. I just had to laugh and remind myself that I would be staying away from these kinds of places for a LONG LONG LONG time. Stayed a total of 20 min and then happily ripped off my wristband as soon as I stepped outside. Find another place to party, I've been disappointed before, but this took the cake!
by Arcelia Cushingberry on I love this place! I like to come here after work and have a drink. It's one of those places where you can go out by yourself and still feel comfortable. I've met a lot of people here just because of the way the club is set up. The bartenders have always taken care of me. I've seen a lot of artists here without knowing who they were and ended up really liking them..Destroyer and Marissa Nadler to name a few. The cover is usually $12 and it's totally worth it. I'm happy paying it just to see what's going on here. Plus, it attracts a generally cool group of people.
