by Raymond Hilyard on Sexy. That's what I have to say about this place. I'm totally a Hollywood lover, I love Hollywood... I'm not necessarily a day to day night out Hollywood guy, and that's probably why I love the scene, cause I rarely indulge in it, but I loved indulging in this place. The people that worked there were goddamn hott, and the time I had was incredible. Yes it's pricey, yes it's flashy, yes, it's everything a silverlake hipster hates... I loved it, and I am looking forward to another night at H.Wood.
by Pasquale Villasenor on Went to Suite 181 to celebrate the graduation and birthday of some friends. We were on the guestlists for 5 before 11p, but came in a little past 11 and was charged 10 which was pretty lame. Since it was a special night we had hired Dj Atraxxx who played a good mix of Hip Hop & rnb and even our themed song "I'm on a Boat" by Coney Island (SNL Andy Samberg). That was sweeeet. The crowd was diverse, but a little thugged out--which i guess is expected since it is located in TL. The ambiance was alright, nothing special, the usual dimness and you got your private vip stage in the middle with the glowing blocks you can dance on. The locals there that night were a little sketch, as there are at every club. You know the guys that hump ever chick from behind or tries to get their freak on by cornering you? (aka guys with no game). There were a couple of those. Lucky for me i was with my babe and my drunk ass friends to shield me. As for drinks, the long island ice tea was nice and smooth. I'm a fan of AMF and it was strong, had to mask it with pine apple juice. But put aside everyone else who doesn't really matter to me, it was fun. Cause if you're like me, so cool, you can be anywhere and have a good time. But note to single ladies if you don't mind gitting your freak on the dance floor blindfolded this is an option. **Dj Atraxxx deserved 5 stars but minus 3 for the club itself.
by Aunny D. on Now i remember this place back when it was the "PALACE" where I used to go when I was underage and dance to electronica back when it was lumped into the "HOUSE" music category. Whevener I visit this place it takes me back and I always think of the couple straight up having sex on the dancefloor (I'm not being metaphoric, they really were getting busy) and me forgeting to close out my tab at the bar and having to go back the following night to mend my drunken mess. Good times! I have to agree with the other reviews and say that this place has one of the best sound systems when it comes to music venues. Whether you are right up front or sitting in the balcony upstairs at the very top it has some serious sound quality.
