by Ouida Freudenstein on Possibly one of the WORST customer service experiences I've ever had. My friends and I were at Ella on Saturday night, having drinks, sitting on the couch. A waitress came over and told us that she had a private party that just arrived and needed us to get up immediately. Keep in mind, no one ever told us that the couch was reserved, and there was no sign (in fact, the waitress said they didn't own a reserved sign). We asked us if we could at least finish our drinks, and she said "No, you need to get up right now." She then stormed off in a hissy fit when we said that we would like a few minutes to finish our drinks since no one ever told us they would need the couch. She brought back her low-life manager who told us WE were being rude for not getting up immediately and said he had no problem losing us as customers. What a bunch of a$$holes!
by Antonio Baddley on This is for the Hillbert's off 35th by Seton. My boyfriend's roommates went there twice and both times they thought it was not that great, overrated, and expensive for what you get. I went there and they were exactly right. I mean it wasn't that bad tasting but their onions are probably an inch thick and that made me think I got what I paid for but def didn't, I had a mouth full of onions in my jalapeno burger and the patty was wimpy. The strawberry shake wasn't too bad but I wouldn't go there just for it. There are manyyyyyyy more places I could have gone to for what I paid and I would have been much happier/satisfied.
by Ken N. on My wife's a native San Franciscan and I left part of my heart there...the part of my heart that was 21 - 35, I guess, which were some pretty rockin' years! I got there shortly after Jonestown and Harvey Milk, and stumbled onto the Gay Pride Parade by accident and thought I'd landed on Mars. Every four years, I look at how freaking blue SF County is, and I think: "Those are MY people!" So, does this place measure up? Close enough. Lots of good beers on tap, pretty decent prices, good natured bartender, decent table service, lots of wood, good nachos, no one in the bar is too damn pretty, and everyone's pretty good natured, getting a nice buzz on in a place that ain't fancy and is sort of in a no man's land, but must have its own following, because hell...I think this is the 20th rateclubs. But I'll rateclubs it again: It ain't the City by the Bay, but when you're inside...close enough!
