by Jamie S. on Tried to go to Estate for "Gay Night" but the doorman wouldn't let us in. They claimed our friend was drinking alcohol from a cup they saw him throw away at the end of the alley, um, it was water.. We felt UNWELCOME and that they just used an excuse to keep us out. Gays-stay away ... I don't think they want us there.
by Many Bjornstad on Oh Trudy's, you do me right. My husband and I really like Trudy's. We LOVE the red salsa. . . I think it might be the best I have ever had. We always order the the Chicken Floquites (sp?) and they are delish. We love the Mexican Martinis, but I have to say we have made improvements in our version at home. I think this place is a must go for visitors to Austin. It has a good atmosphere and yummy food and drinks. The only reason I am only giving 4 stars: some times the service is a bit meh. Not horrible, but not good.
