Saturday 11.14.09. DJ Tripp headlining. It was ok. I felt like the DJs mailed it in big time. Largely pre-recorded & disappointing. I felt like the crowd wasn't expecting the best, didn't get the best, and had a good time. I still danced and had a decent time, but it was truly not amazing.

I think they were in the news for a police raid, because there were drugs being sold on premises... ok maybe not a big shocker for a new york club, but I just didn't really like the place much. A bit like Hiro, we're talking overpriced and badly made drinks, music that is kinda iffy, and a lot of bridge and tunnel ie nightlife tourists... If you're a chick, these places are great because you won't wait in line, you won't pay a cover, and you probably won't buy a single drink. You'll also have tons of guys asking permission to kiss your pretty little toes. This place is a small step above Duvet, a very small step. The music is better, and the drinks are better. But we're talking a very small step here people.

Go here to dance your ass off. This place is the most consistently fun club I've found in SF. The DJs are excellent, and the sound system is way too much for the dancefloor, which makes it...great! When the bass is bumpin at this joint, you almost don't have to dance, the music will vibrate your feet off the floor and ur ass will start grindin...next thing you know, you're dancing better than you ever did before. You're in your zone. You can wear Prada, your oldest jeans, tshirt & running shoes (recommended), or a halloween costume -- no one cares, your hotness. This club opens Saturday at 10pm and doesn't close until Monday at 4 am. Thats right. Next time you think you're hardcore, try doing a 30 hour stint at this joint. I've done it a couple times, not highly recommended though, without at least going home for a shower at hour 20 or at least jump in their waterfall or fountain or something to cleanse thyself. They've got a fireplace with places to hang next to it. They've got a waterfall. A nice buddha statue. A patio. Great outdoor area. Ignore people who creep you out, or expand your horizons and talk to some. Most aren't as bad as you imagine, there's just some that are tweakin or whatever. Yes, they should probably close the place for an hour to clean it...but thats part of the attraction, I suppose. Check it out on Sunday morning. 3am-noonish or so on Sunday morning, people pile in this place from throughout the City, because all the other clubs are closed. Thus, you get rep from the wonderful spectrum of all that is San Francisco during these hours, and the music is especially excellent Sunday mornings. T-dance. What other club in the City has a waterfall, fountains, buddha, fireplace, outdoor and indoor dance areas, as well as a fairly even mix of white, asian, black, other, and all rep from all sexualities? Get up. Get up and dance, dammit.
