Serious food - relaxed environment! I highly recommend the chef's tasting menu. We splurged on the 7 course, and also asked for wine pairing ($5 per course for a half-pairing). I'm very glad our server recommended the half-pairing, which was plenty for each course. I was so amazed at how the food made the wine sing! Who knew that shrimp and champagne were such good buddies? The staff at Woodfire - that's who! It was nice to not know what we were eating beforehand. I'd place my trust in the chefs here anytime. Oh, and chef Kevin was in the kitchen -- bonus.

I actually had an ok time here even though my girl friends were waiting forever for the rest of their guy friends to get in...(sadly they never got in..so they had to leave me and my other two guy friends to dance it up by ourselves. ugh. no offense) So apparently guys can't be guest listed. They need to either have a table or know somebody working.. It was a cheap night for us, too, because we only paid $2 for parking at the Hollywood/Highland Stx (you might have to validate for extra free hours, but the kiosk in the stx can do that for you). It took about 5 min to walk over. The girls were guest listed so we got in fast and free. Even though there was some confusion as to who to approach, we didn't have to actually wait in line. I think all shots were $12 each. I just got a sprite ($2) and added other stuff. The bathroom attendant was cool to talk to, but she didn't hand out towels for hand washers. I was kind of disappointed in the bathrooms actually. There were only 4 stalls. The dance floor was wayy crowded (like Vegas crowded!). The smoking patio was wayy crowded. The music for both rooms was alright. The bartenders are pretty quick. The crowd at the time seemed well dressed or skanked out, and sexy/pretty, but looking back at the pictures, they weren't THAT hot... Must've been the lighting and drinks.. I've got to try this again and update when my friends actually stay to dance. Oh and can't forget the $4 bacon wrapped hot dogs at the end of the night!! Gotta love those!! I spent less than $10 that night.--SCORE!!

I have been to Ruby Skye exactly 3 times in my life. The first was with an ex-boyfriend who at that point was just a friend and we took a little road trip together. He likes to dance, I like to make a fool out of myself, so this is where we ended up. Made out with a hot brazilian guy...the ex got mad. But a positive memory. The second was a double date type thing where my "date" kept going on about how hot my friend (who was with his friend) was. He was the epitome of a douche bag, but it wasn't horrible, and he wasn't a bad kisser. The third time was the best. I wasn't wasted, and I managed to get something I really, really wanted involving a hot guy and his belly button. What I like about Ruby Skye is that it is clean and spacious. The drink prices are ridiculous- but that's true for SF overall. The bouncers really need to get knocked off their pedastals, but that's true for a lot of bouncers. This is a place where it's highly unlikely that I'll go just to go, but I would not be opposed to it. Lots of making out to do, after all!
