After partying it up with J the night before (until 4 am, I might add), I decided that I needed to take it easy Saturday night. "It'll be painful to stand on concrete and watch the Chinese New Year Parade. Let's go have a Mojito instead." "...Okay." So, that's how I ended up at Lime around 7 on a Saturday night with a mojito in my hand. Peer pressure is such a bitch. We managed to find parking in the tiny lot behind Walgreens on Castro and 18th, and we walked down to Lime. Right outside, a man was yelling at a woman about "annal sex," telling her that she was a dumb bitch for not knowing that "annal" sex rips the cervix and then makes your shit run. I can't even make this stuff up, I swear. We walked inside and ordered two classic mojitos. There weren't many people there yet, so we got our drinks pronto and sat in the front room and sipped. The ambiance was cute, with fuchsia and magenta lighting and white lights and seats. There were small groups there eating and drinking, so we just sat and chatted. The mojito was yummy - one of the best I've ever had. In the words of J, "you only need one." Which is true. It's not like one will make you roll on the ground, incoherent, but it's the right amount to make you feel posh and hip. $9 for the mojito, and the other drinks were around $8-12ish. The food was meant for sharing, so the tapas-style dishes ranged from $8-12 as well. We didn't try the food, but I definitely will next time when I'm hungry.
